Our Young Members lead the way

GCP Young Members

Become a Young Member

GCP Young Members Programme provides opportunities for young adults to learn, grow and build positive futures.

If you’re aged between 16-30 years and live in or near Edinburgh, you can become a Young Member of The Grassmarket Community Project.

While all ages are welcome at GCP, we understand that our young people often have different needs, interests and experiences. That’s why created specific programs for members age 16-30, so they can connect with peers, build core skills, expand their horizons access supported volunteering employment opportunities.

We offer a wide range of free, weekly activities for our members to join, with the option of joining us for a free, two course lunch when you sign up for an activity.

Recognising that long term commitments might be difficult, our activities don’t require members to commit to them for any length of time – instead, members can join activities based on their own schedules and needs, so they can try something new with no strings attached!

There are lots of opportunities for our Young Members!

Plus the opportunity to join in with the rest of GCP’s Members Programme.

GCP’s Approach

We aim to offer opportunities to young people so that they don’t have to embark on the journey to adulthood alone.

Through our programmess, we seek to offer young people opportunities to learn practical and vocational skills, engage in hands-on, real world experiences to discover what interests them, and create lasting connections with peers in order to develop a strong sense of place within their community.

‘I really enjoyed the pre-apprenticeship. I met lovely people and learned loads of skills along the way.

It helped me to socialise and get ready for the real world of working environment.’  Mishana
