we’re building (and moving out for a bit)

Following over 4 years of identifying the need, designing, fundraising and seeking planning we are very excited to announce that we are building a Pavilion on our courtyard area. This wil enable us to provide a cafe for local tour guides and companies as well as our Members, the local public and the many visitors to Edinburgh and the Old Town. Most importantly it will enable a less congested more open and relaxed entrance lobby area for our Members, staff and Volunteers as well as our wonderful Events customers. This work will take approximately 5 months to complete and we think you’ll be delighted with the results.

The appointed contractors are multi-award winning Colorado Construction and the design is by Hoskins Architects – both companies have extensive experience in working in world heritage areas and are delighted to be supporting our charity and our growth.

Grassmarket Centre is now CLOSED UNTIL MARCH 2022 for construction of our NEW extension. Only Grassmarket Furniture is operating from Candlemaker Row—please access their workshop via the Kirkyard entrance.
