Bad Boy Barbers

Bad Boy Barbers and GCP

Meet our neighbours, Bad Boy Barbers

Bad Boy Barbers are GCP’s neighbours on Candlemaker Row and recently they became our friends too, as we entered into a new partnership with them.

Like all good partners, the relationship works well for both of us.

Lisa, Bad Boys owner, said she was delighted when our Volunteer Manager, Kevin approached her,

‘He asked if we would consider cutting members’ hair and I was delighted to say yes.

‘On Mondays, we have student training and it works well, our supervised trainees get eager models, and the members get free haircuts.’

Bad Boy Barbers and GCP - Caleb and John

In just three weeks, trainee Caleb and GCP member John have struck up a lovely relationship. Caleb agrees with Lisa,

‘John is brilliant and to be honest, everyone has been so lovely. I am enjoying working with them all.”

John agrees,

‘It’s nice here. There’s good banter and everyone is quite friendly.’

Member Lana appreciated her hair cut,

‘Everyone is so friendly and accommodating, they are attentive to details and I like the relaxed atmosphere.

‘I do think it’s a good idea to let people learn how to do it and Mason is doing a good job.’

Mason is three weeks into his training and says,

‘I’m enjoying working with everyone and I’m learning a lot.’

Bad Boy Barbers and GCP - Elsa

Lisa and the team have gone further in their support,

‘We are also delighted to support people who are homeless by coming along to do haircuts during Wednesdays Open Door Meals.

‘It feels so good to be able to be more inclusive and meet everyone at the GCP.’

For members, customers and Bad Boy barber staff alike, the star of the show seems to be Elsa the dog, who quietly supervises haircuts. Lana agrees,

‘I do like the atmosphere and the design of the shop. Elsa the dog is particularly special’!’

A big thank you to Bad Boy Barbers for all their support, we look forward to developing our relationship with you.
