Burning Issues

One of the recurrent themes arising from any discussion with local residents, about what has

happened to the area or what is planned, is the lack of consultation.

The City of Edinburgh Council (CEC) considers it sufficient to arrange a "consultation meeting" while in reality presenting a fâit accompli.

Examples of this are:

 - the fate of the Grassmarket trees

 - the King's Stables Road fiasco

 - the change of focus from residential to events

 - the planned events

These give rise to our Burning Issues!

We are not against everything; as it may appear to some people. We are against how changes which affect the daily lives and continued living standards of local residents have been handled by CEC and their appointees.

We are supportive of making the area more family friendly and getting rid of the Grassmarket's binge drinking tag.
